What ID Do You Need For A House Lockout?
Bring a photo ID and something that shows the address is yours — a piece of mail, a utility bill, a lease, or a driver’s licence with the matching address. If you cannot produce anything on the spot, we can usually still verify ownership another way, but expect it to take longer and expect us to ask.
This surprises people, and then it reassures them once they think about it. A locksmith who lets anyone into any house on request is not a safety feature. The checking is the point.

If your ID does not match the address yet
New movers and recent renters run into this often — the licence still shows the old address, and nothing at the new place has your name on it yet. Say so when you call. A lease, a moving confirmation email, or a neighbour who can confirm you live there usually covers it.
Why we ask at all
Because the alternative is a locksmith who opens any door for anyone with cash, which is exactly the kind of service that ends up letting someone into a house they do not live in. The check protects you as much as it protects us.

If you genuinely have nothing on you
It still might be possible — a neighbour who can confirm, a family member we can call, or in some cases proof sent by phone while we are en route. Tell us the situation honestly when you ring rather than showing up to nothing and hoping. It saves everyone the awkward conversation at the door.
